These courses are addressed predominantly to businessmen, diplomats,  or other foreign citizens working or studying in Romania.

The organization of courses meets the needs of the learners in terms of schedule, frequency, location, teaching and verification methods. For a person who is unacquainted with Romanian we recommend 5 modules (of 32 hours each) to reach a proper use of language in real current situations.

Study groups

Individual or small group classes (6 to 8 students) at a same language level, a 24-hour module (i.e. 6 weeks x 2 classes/week x 2 hours).

Methodology

Curriculum is built by the professor together with the learner, depending on the latter’s needs. However, any curriculum mandatorily includes fundamentals of grammar, basic vocabulary and specific structures of the language for interaction in actual situations. Any curriculum tackles the five basic skills (understanding spoken language, oral expression, written language comprehension, correct drafting of a written text, conversational interaction), but emphasizes the skills that are necessary to the learner.

Teaching language

Romanian language courses are taught either by using a vehicle language (English, French, German, etc.), or directly in Romanian (option not recommended to absolute beginners). Different methodologies and pathways are used in the two cases.

The Professors have special training and  good experience in teaching Romanian to foreign learners.

Course materials

The Professor adapts the course materials chosen together with the learners and they will generally compile these materials – starting from a variety of existing textbooks, grammars and workbooks – depending on the learner’s needs and pace of progress.

Assessment takes place periodically by tests that are thereafter analysed with the learner. A diploma or certificate (depending on the level) will be issued at the end of the course, specifying the learner’s knowledge at the five fundamental skills and placing them in one of the levels provided by the European Framework of Reference (A1 – C2).
